The search for Atlantis
"The search for Atlantis is the search for a shared spiritual history. And in these difficult times we desperately need a spiritual bond with the universe, a bond that humankind once lived freely, without doubt or fear. Human intelligence was not born of religious dogma [...] and above all it was not born in recent times. If we have reached only a limited knowledge of ourselves, it is because we have accepted without question the frameworks of those who have sought to control, and consequently to humiliate, our awareness of who we are and where we come from."
In this extraordinary work Ivar Zapp, a lecturer at the University of Costa Rica, and George Erikson, an anthropologist, urge us to overcome the prejudices of the "orthodox" academic establishment, which for centuries has tried by every means to halt the advance of alternative ideas that often prove more valid than those always promoted as absolute and irrefutable truths, veritable articles of academic faith. Freedom of thought is what makes human beings free, and it is our duty to defend it in every way. Fortunately, today the internet makes it possible to spread and exchange ideas freely. More and more sites and blogs are raising doubts about these convenient truths, which are drilled into us from our first years at school and are never updated, despite the continual discovery of evidence that calls their accuracy into question.
Only with a mind free of prejudice will we be able to regain awareness of who we are and where we come from.
